Barry Keoghan invades Jacob Elordi’s world in seductive ‘Saltburn’ trailer

With its promise of lush parties and lusty romances, Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn promises to lure you into a world of hedonistic excess — one that may have no escape.

With her sophomore feature, the writer-director of Promising Young Woman — who also played Midge in Barbie — takes on class warfare and queer obsession. Fennell introduces us to Oxford outcast Oliver (The Banshees of Inisherin‘s Barry Keoghan) and the very hot, very rich Felix (Priscilla‘s Jacob Elordi), the object of his infatuation.

When Oliver is reluctnant to go home for the summer, Felix invites him to his family estate of Saltburn, which is more an elaborate castle than a cozy home. There, Oliver finds himself in a totally unfamiliar environment, one where families dress up in black-tie attire for dinner, throw elaborate parties on a whim, and cast away friends like candy wrappers. But is Oliver as clueless as he seems, or is there something deeper to his presence at Saltburn?

Also starring Rosamund Pike, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, Richard E. Grant, and Carrie Mulligan, Saltburn is a devilish dish of a film that just so happens to have many of the year’s best one-liners (most delivered by Pike).

Get a taste in the above trailer, then get lost in Saltburn.

Saltburn opens in limited theaters Nov. 17, then opens wide Nov. 24.
