Wirepas demo kit for mesh networking

Panasonic Wirepas Symbiotech demo kit

IoT software company Symbiotech, which already has Wirepas Mesh products, has provided the kit’s software, and Panasonic earlier teamed up with Wirepas to get the mesh network stack onto its module.

The kit has four pre-flashed battery-powered mesh nodes (photo below) that include an HTS221 temperature sensor, an LED that can be remotely-controlled from the web user interface (photo below-er), and a switch to set the node to either Wirepas’ low-latency mode or its low-power mode.

Also in the kit is a gateway board based on the same module.

The “developed software enables an easy set-up of the demonstration, with a user interface that shows sensor data, offers control and gives insight into the network health”, said Panasonic. “The kit allows you to set up a Wirepas Mesh network at any time and at any place.”

Wirepas is a self-organising self-repairing multi-hop mesh network with built-in security. It has been ised in networks with tens of thousands of nodes.
