watchGPT Brings the Popular AI Assistant to Your Apple Watch

Developed by OpenAI, the AI chatbot has burst onto the scene with its unique ability to answer almost anything you can imagine—everything from providing computer coding to more mundane tasks like what kind of food to serve at a dinner party.

Instead of something more like a web search the results are in an easy-to-read, conversational format.

While there are a number of ways to tap the AI chatbot on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, the new app watchGPT brings the service to your Apple Watch.

After opening up the app, it’s time to get started. With the Apple Watch Series 7 or later, you can type in your question. But it’s also easy to use the watch’s voice dictation feature to easily speak the question.

Just like on the Web version, you can then read the answer. That can be shared with other via text, email, or social media. While you can’t ask more than a single question, that limitation won’t last long. In a future update, the app will allow you to have an entire conversation with the AI.

For quick access to the app, you can also use a complication that can be added to your watch face. Just press the complication to automatically launch the app.

watchGPT is a $4.99 download on the App Store now and is just for the Apple Watch.

There are already a number of improvements planned with future updates. Along with the ability to see interactions

Other features on the roadmap include the ability to see a history of interactions, the option to use your own API key, an option to default by vocal output, and the ability to have the response be read out loud by the app.
