Variable 24Vdc to 15kVdc PSU with digital control

Variable 24Vdc to 15kVdc PSU with digital control

There are three basic models, all 24Vin and all non-isolated:

  • HRF1524S10K0* – 0 to 10kV at 1.5mA
  • HRF1524S12K0* – 0 to 12kV at 1.25mA
  • HRF1524S15K0* – 0 to 15kV at 1mA

The main options on top of this are:

  • Positive (*=P) or negative (*=N) polarity output
  • Analogue (no suffix) or digital (-D suffix) control

In each case the input can be between 21.6 and 26.4Vdc, and max input current is ~1A.

The digital control option uses PMBus via I2C, and both voltage and current can be set across 0 – 100%.

“Compared to the precision analogue version launched in May 2025, the digital interface simplifies system integration and reduces setup time through a GUI,” according to the company. “Power supply status flags provide visibility into system health and performance. Datalogging and real-time diagnostics convert internal data into actionable insights. Multi-unit synchronisation enables scalable power architectures.”

There are designed to be low-noise power supplies, with ripple down to 10ppm.

Drift is 10ppm/hr, 25ppm/8hr and 25ppm/°C.

Load and line regulation is 10ppm.

Dimensions are 33 x 72.4 x 161mm and 465g.

Safety approvals include UL61010 and UL62368.

Applications are expected in mass spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.

HRF15 digital PSUs are available from Avnet Abacus or direct from XP Power with a three-year warranty.

Going the other way, Navitas recently revealed a multi-kW down converter that takes in 35kV three-phase and delivers 800V in a single stage.
