The winners of TikTok’s first ever Book Awards have been revealed.
Launched in the UK and Ireland, the awards were given to winners chosen from the shortlist, which was announced in July and curated by prominent figures in publishing and literature. The inaugural TikTok Book Awards winners include authors Bolu Babalola, Alice Oseman, and Dolly Alderton, for their works Honey and Spice, Heartstopper, and Everything I Know About Love, in various categories.
The winners were ultimately chosen by the #BookTok community, with thousands of fans voting via the app.

“This is actually the first award I’ve received for anything I’ve written,” said Babalola, whose romantic comedy Honey and Spice was crowned BookTok Book of the Year (the book was also featured as TikTok Book Club’s September read last year).
“It means the world to me, especially because it’s from people who read, who have a passion for books, and actually for love as well,” she added. “I feel so supported by the BookTok community [and] creators.”
James Stafford, general manager of operation and marketing at TikTok UK, said that “the winners truly reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the #BookTok community.”
“We have been truly blown away by the response and excitement from everyone who has been involved in this process,” he said. “We have been humbled to watch this community of book lovers thrive and find a genuine connection on TikTok. Your unapologetic love of reading has truly made this community what it is and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store.”
