T-Mobile is Increasing Its Price For Home Internet

T-Mobile’s Home Internet service allows you to take advantage of the company’s growing 5G network so you can use it as your home internet, as a replacement for fiber or broadband. It’s even more reliable than wired internet in some places within the country, and it only comes at a flat monthly fee. We have some bad news if you’re not currently a customer, though, and it’s the fact that it’s now going up in price if you sign up from today.

As of January 18th, 2024, T-Mobile has quietly adjusted the pricing for new customers. The monthly fee for Unlimited Home and Small Business Internet, with AutoPay, has increased to $60 per month, returning to its “original launch pricing” after staying at $50 per month for the past few months. This adjustment applies specifically to new customers without existing T-Mobile phone service.

Existing discounts remain in place for those with T-Mobile phone lines. Subscribers with Go5G Next, Go5G Plus, or Magenta MAX receive a $20 monthly discount, bringing the final price to $40. Those with any postpaid wireless plan get a $10 discount, resulting in a final price of $50 per month. Despite these discounts, however, there is an across-the-board $10 increase for new customers. $10 might not be that much, but as we always point out whenever there’s a price hike like this, when everyone starts raising prices at around the same time, the extra money you’re paying adds up quickly.

It’s important to note that the price hike only affects new customers subscribing to the Home Internet service. Current subscribers with a Price Lock on their plans will not experience an increase in their current pricing. So, if you’re already paying $50 (or less) for your home internet, you won’t be seeing a price increase at this time. In theory, you should be shielded by Price Lock going forward, but these days, we never know.

If you want to sign up for 5G Home Internet now, just be mindful that it will be costing more now. $10 more, but it’s more money nonetheless.
