There are plenty of times when it can help to have a giant battery with you, like during extended power outages or outdoor camping trips. Portable, pocketable batteries will only get you so far, after all. If you’re camping or off the grid for enough time, eventually you might even need an alternate source of energy. Luckily, these new solar stations by Jackery might just fit the bill.
Jackery just announced a pair of new solar generators, including the Solar Generator 1000 Plus and the Solar Generator 300 Plus — you can probably tell which one is the higher-end one from the name. The Solar Generator 1000 Plus has a 1264Wh capacity with a power output of up to 2,000W, as well as weighing in at 14.5 kg or 32 lbs. The solar panels weigh 4 kg and can provide up to 100W of power, in case of emergencies.
The Solar Generator 300 Plus, on the other hand, is much more modest. It has a much smaller capacity of 288Wh and it can provide up to 300W of power concurrently, but it’s also much more compact, weighing in at 3.75 kg or 8.27 lbs. Basically, it weighs roughly four times less than the 1000 Plus, and it’s still able to provide a lot of power. The solar panels it comes with are also more modest, capable of providing up to 40W of power, although they weigh roughly the same as the solar panels on the 1000 Plus.
You’ll be well served by any of these options regardless of which one you get, although if you’re planning to take a lot of stuff with you, the Solar Generator 1000 Plus might be the better option, with a higher capacity and a higher power output for both the power station and the solar panels.
The Jackery Solar Generator 1000 Plus can be purchased for $1,699, while the 300 Plus is much more affordable, at $549. Both are available for purchase from Jackery’s website right now, so if you’re planning an off-road trip anytime soon, you can get your order in starting today.
