Goodnotes 6 Arrives With AI-Powered Writing Aids and Math Assistance

One of the best new features of the app, which was names as Apple’s top iPad app of 2022, is AI-powered writing aids. In handwritten notes, Goodnotes 6 will detect and correct spelling mistakes in your own handwriting.

And if you forgot how to spell a word, the app can give you prompts on how to spell it, much like an autocomplete for typed words.

To prepare for exams like the SATs, you can practice in the app with math prep courses. While working, the app uses AI to help you catch a wrong equation.

There is also a trio of new gestures when using the Apple Pencil. With Scribble to Erase, just scribble it out and continue writing. Circle to Lasso allows you to select anything by drawing a circle around it with your pen. The app now also recognizes and converts math equations.

Users can now customize the size and color of a notebook template. You can also change the colors of folders.

Goodnotes 6 is designed for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It’s a free download on the App Store now. The free version allows you to create up to three notebooks.

There is also a subscription tier available for $9.99 yearly or $29.99 as a one-time purchase. Subscribers will receive the ability to create unlimited digital notebooks that are searchable and synced to the cloud. You can also create unlimited audio notes that sync to your notes.

You will also receive access to AI features that allow you to paraphrase, shorten/lengthen, and changer the tone of the typed text. New stationery will also be added only for subscribers.

If you’ve previously purchased Goodnotes 5, you can continue using that app. You will receive a discount on the yearly subscription if you choose to upgrade to the new version.
