Sick of apps constantly asking you to rate them? There is a way you can block App Store rating requests completely on iPhone, iPad and Mac so that the pesky popups no longer appear. We’ll show you how.

Block App Store rating requests on iPhone, iPad and Mac

We’ve all seen App Store rating requests at least once on our Apple devices. They typically appear after you’ve used a new app a few times. The popup will ask you if you’re enjoying the app, and invite you to submit a rating right away.

Some apps display this popup more than once, and dismissing it over and over can become pretty tiring. But there is a way to disable these App Store rating requests on iOS, iPadOS and macOS so they never appear.

Disable App Store rating requests on iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on App Store.
  3. Tap the toggle alongside In-App Ratings & Reviews to disable it.

… and on Mac

  3. Uncheck the box alongside In-App Ratings & Reviews to disable it.

And that’s it. You just blocked popup App Store rating requests forever on your Mac.

Rate and review apps that deserve it

Although disabling pesky App Store rating requests might be a good idea, we encourage you to rate and review any apps and games you really love (or hate for good reason).

Positive App Store reviews can make a real difference to iPhone, iPad and Mac developers — especially smaller independent studios — because it shows other customers that their products are worth downloading.

Likewise, negative feedback can help developers identify problems and make improvements. They also can help App Store customers determine which apps they should avoid.
