Compatible with the Arduino UNO form factor, it also supports SPI, UART, and I2C for interoperability with various devices.

Mouser writes:

“By incorporating RS485 connectivity, the ASX00073 UNO SPE shield becomes a versatile tool for upgrading RS485 legacy systems or integrating modern technologies with current infrastructures. Additionally, ASX00073 shield features screw terminals for additional connectivity and power options, along with advanced protection, making it ideal for remote industrial monitoring environments and automated control.”

SPE is the new Ethernet standard enabling power and data on a single pair of wires. Referred to as Power over Data Line (PoDL), it also aids miniaturisation and allows for faster data transfer.

Applications

The ASX00073 UNO SPE Shield is aimed at Edge, Industrial Automation, IoT, and Smart Applications.

For example, for industrial automation and networking the shield may serve industrial IoT gateways, factory automation and control systems, or smart grid monitoring.

For building automation, it may serve HVAC and environmental monitoring, access control and security systems, and also general remote monitoring.

UNO REV 4

Note, Mouser also stocks the Arduino UNO REV 4 Microcontroller Board.

Powered by the Renesas RA4M1 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 processor, it runs at 48MHz. And it comes in two versions: the UNO R4 Wi-Fi and UNO R4 Minima.

To simplify project upgrades, they share the same form factor, shield compatibility, and 5V operating voltage as the UNO R3.
