Apple’s new M3 iMac and MacBook Pros are now officially on sale in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and select other countries. If you live in one of those locations, you can pick up the latest iMac or M3-powered MacBook Pro from your nearest Apple Store.
The new M3 Max MacBook Pro will go on sale later in November.
New iMac is all about the M3 chip
Apple’s new 24-inch iMac looks exactly like its predecessor. The display size, resolution, overall build quality and other specs remain unchanged. The major upgrade is the faster M3 chip, which Apple says delivers a 50% performance boost in some workloads. Another significant improvement is support for Wi-Fi 6E, enabling faster wireless transfer speeds.
Early M3 iMac reviews suggest the new chip makes a big difference in performance.

M3 MacBook Pros also go on sale
Alongside the M3 iMac, Apple announced a MacBook Pro refresh at its its “Scary Fast” event in late October. As a part of the revamp, the company discontinued the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. A 14-inch MacBook Pro with the entry-level M3 chip replaces it, with a lower starting price of $1,600. It packs the same impressive display as the M3 Pro and Max variants, though the M3 chip is considerably less powerful than its siblings.
For more demanding workloads, you can opt for the M3 Pro chip in both 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. The entry-level variant now comes with 18GB of unified memory — 2GB more than before. Other aspects of the new M3 Pro machines remain the same as the early 2023 MacBook Pro, which they replace.
As our M3 MacBook Pro review roundup notes, Apple’s latest laptops are the same cars as before but use superior engines to deliver better performance.
Only the M3 Max MacBook Pro is not going on sale now. It is the most powerful machine of the lot, offering CPU performance that even beats the M1 Ultra. If you want the M3 Max MacBook Pro, you must wait until later this month.
