Xiaomi 13 Ultra is out in Europe

Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the company’s most powerful smartphone ever, is now available globally.

The 13 Ultra launched in China in April for a fairly reasonable price of RMB 5,999 ($840), but the pricing in European markets is very different. In Germany(opens in a new tab), Spain(opens in a new tab), and France(opens in a new tab), the price is the same: €1,499.90 or $1,615.

That’s €100 more than the starting price of Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra in Europe, or €30-50 more than the starting price of Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max (iPhone prices vary by region).

For the price, you get an incredibly powerful cameraphone, with four Leica-branded 50-megapixel cameras (wide, ultrawide, a 3.2x telephoto camera, and a 5x periscope telephoto camera), as well as a 32-megapixel selfie camera. I’ve tried out the Chinese version of the phone and found that it delivers similar quality photos as the excellent Xiaomi 13 Pro, though the periscope camera gives it significantly improved zoom capabilities.

Other key specs include a 6.73-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging, and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68 water and dust resistance, and comes with Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 OS, based on Android 13.

With the faux-leather green or black back and a massive, circular camera bump on the back, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra also has a very different design from the otherwise fairly similar Xiaomi 13 Pro.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is available for purchase now at Xiaomi’s(opens in a new tab) European(opens in a new tab) websites(opens in a new tab).
