Aside from a game I’m currently playing for review purposes, I’m currently not invested in anything on the Switch right now. I think I’m in a pre-Tears of the Kingdom slump with Switch games, but hopefully, I’ll be back on track soon.
Elsewhere, I’m currently entrenched in survival horror with both Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space. In all my years of gaming, I can’t quite recall another instance in which two exceptional remakes released so close to one another. They’re simply exquisite and I’m going to be hard-pressed to decide which one comes out on top when it comes time to decide my game of the year (assuming nothing else supplants them).

Here’s my most mild of mild takes: Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is a fantastic game. I know, stop the press! I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to get round to it, but I am having such a good time that I imagine I will near-enough finish it off this weekend.
I’m also enjoying some tasty stealth platforming in The Library of Babel from the little that I have played so far and I am interested to see where it goes, even if it is filling up my screenshots folder with “ooh, that’s pretty, I should capture that…”

Like Ollie, I’m also in a bit of a pre-Zelda slump, but a charming little game did drop on Switch this week that I plan to spend some time with this weekend as I tuck into some Easter treats. Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories is a juicy little retro-homage to Game Boy visuals with a bit of an EarthBound quirk in its sense of humour.
Otherwise, I’ll be squeezing in the odd round of Tetris on Nintendo Switch Online, revamping my island on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or trying to convince my partner he should play against me in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line. I don’t have it in me to commit to something that’s time-consuming and requires a lot of mental power at the moment.

This weekend I continue my third playthrough of Breath of the Wild. I’m nearing the end, having beaten three of the four Divine Beasts and found around 100 shrines. It’s been time-consuming since I’ve given myself a no-fast travel rule, but it’s also been very rewarding. I’ve discovered a lot of new stuff that I didn’t know was even in the game, and I’m happy I’m on track to beat it again just before Tears of the Kingdom comes out!
I might also hop into some puzzles of Pushmo and get my slickest rhythm taps ready in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

It’s the Easter weekend, and that means eggs, birds, lambs, and that can only mean one thing. Yep, I’m going to be diving headfirst into Disco Elysium. Have to make a confession though, I’m going to be playing it on my Steam Deck rather than my Switch. I’m a felon, lock me up.

I believe I’m about to complete Lunark and it has been an absolute delight. I keep postponing my Resident Evil 4 Switch playthrough mostly because of other games coming up but I am truly enjoying this more than the new remake (a game I will surely tackle down the line). I was making room to enjoy Curse of the Sea Rats over the weekend but went for a physical copy, so the game might not arrive in time for the Easter break. Outside of Nintendo turf, Xenogears’ final stretch on PS1 and the 1.0 release of EVERSPACE 2 on Steam will get some love (You all did buy the original EVERSPACE on Switch, right?)
Game of the Week is… well, not a game but a game library instead: the Nintendo 64. And by weeks I mean the upcoming several months. I can’t quite disclose the reason why yet but I can assure you I will be revising quite a huge slice of the system’s stellar game library. I think I’ll start with F-Zero X…
