View More Than 300 Famous Sites Around the World in 3D With Landmarks

And with the new app Landmarks, you can explore all of those landmarks quickly and easily.

Exploring the landmarks is easy. All of the locations are categorized by type, eg: bridges or churches. You can also view everything by location. For a fun touch, you can also select a random location.

To better explore, you can start an animation that will show the entire landmark. You can even switch between light and dark to see what the landmark looks like during the day and at night.

You can also choose to open up the location in Apple Maps or even save as a favorite to access later.

While I’ve previously seen of few of the 3D models while using Apple Maps, Landmarks makes it easy to travel around the world and see some iconic locations, all from the comfort of your Apple device.

Landmarks is for the iPhone, all iPad models, Apple TV, and Mac. It’s a free download on the App Store now. For the Detailed City Experience, you’ll need iOS/iPadOS/tvOS 16.0 or macOS 13.0 or later with an an A12/M1 chip or newer.

With an in-app purchase of $2.99 you can enable a gyroscope and Cinematic Mode in the app.

The app’s developer, Andrey Baev, also has a similar app designed for pilots, aviation enthusiasts and, professional. With Preflight: Airport Navigator, you can explore more than 8,000 airports worldwide.

Select airports offers the same Apple Maps powered 3D scenery.

That app is $4.99 with no in-app purchases or subscriptions and is for the iPhone, all iPad models, Apple TV, and Mac.
