Using the app is a simple, but powerful way, to keep track of your emotions. To begin, you’ll rate your current happiness on a scale of 0 to 10.
Then, you will predict how happy you will be tomorrow, in a week, in 1 month, and in a year.
You’ll then use the app every day to record your actual happiness level. You can select to be reminded with a notification. After using the app for a time, it will begin to gather information about your predicted and actual happiness level.
That information will be shown in a graph to better understand yourself. The app will also correlate your happiness level with the weather to see if cold and rainy days get you down. You can also see your happiness levels on certain days of the week and at certain locations.
Another great tool is the ability to write a diary entry to view in the future. HappySteps also features a number of great motivation quotes that can help you.
All data collected in the app can be protected using Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. You can optionally use your step count from recorded Heath data to show your perceived level of happiness compared to your step count.

There is an optional Premium subscription for $9.99 per year. Subscribers will receive unlimited access to the Analyze tab to better understand what makes them happy. They can also use widgets and export all of the data collected in the app.
