A highlight of the update is a new movable and floating toolbox. You can move it to any one of four slots on the page or even where it is out of your way when taking a note. Each tool with style options also have an individual tray so you can customize each tool. Just tap on a preset to update the favorite colors, sizes, and styles.
You’ll also notice more screen real estate for writing notes. The notes view extends full screen with the title above the note and the UI takes up less space.
In the revamped Library view, Recents, Favorites, Unfiled, and Shared Notes a grouped together to free up space in the sidebar. Global search has also been moved to the library for easier access.
The app has also improved accessibility with support for Dynamic Type and icon labels for screen readers. Finally, a number of tools like Ruler, Custom Colors, themes, stickers, planners, and journals are available to all users.
Notability is a free download for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It’s available on the App Store now.
There is also an optional subscription available for $14.99 yearly or $4.99 per month. Subscribers can take advantage of unlimited edits, auto-backup support, and iCloud sync. You can also use MyScript Handwriting Recognition and Math Conversion technology.
