Motorola Razr 40: Pricing of the Cheaper Foldable Is Revealed

This year has seen more Android brands launching foldable smartphones. In the case of Motorola, it is expected to announce two folding models of the rumored Razr 40 with both are seemingly leaked further revealing more of their design and pricing.

Motorola has set June 1st as a product launch where the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra could likely break cover. Apparently, we don’t need to wait for the event to kick off to see how they would look or even how much they will cost, especially for the cheaper vanilla model.

The official-looking renders of the standard Motorola Razr 40 were shared by MySmartPrice. It provides details of the colorways of the device, which arriving in three colors: purple, dark green, and cream. Evidently, all three variants are coming with a textured back that is closer to a leather finish. Furthermore, there is also a hint of water-resistant rating given the water droplets seen on the device in one of the pictures.

As for the pricing, SamInsider picked up a screenshot of the alleged European prices for the Motorola Razr 40. According to the listing, the base model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage configuration will retail for €899 ($981). This suggests that the US pricing may tip around $899 as well, albeit before any taxes are added on it.

In comparison, the price is notably cheaper than of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 (review) priced for $999 stateside or €1099 in the Euro zone. With this note, the more expensive Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is more comparable to Samsung’s clamshell phone, which may cost €1099 and possibly with the same memory setup as with the Razr 40.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra colors and release date

Separately, notable leaker Evan Blass has dropped a set of renders for the Razr 40 Ultra. The more capable foldable Motorola is available in red, blue, and black hues. In addition, the bigger cover screen diagonally measured to be 3.2-inch wide is also uncovered, giving weight to the early reports.

The Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra are slated to go official next month. The duo is reportedly running on Android 13 and powered by last year’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor rather than the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that is anticipated to be enlisted by Samsung for the unannounced Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
