To celebrate the launch of its first Viking-themed title, IGG has teamed up with Trevor Morris – the Emmy-winning composer of the score for the TV show Vikings – to create an official Viking Rise theme song.
Sparing no effort, Morris’s theme song incorporates traditional Nordic instruments like the Nyckelharpa and the Hurdy-gurdy, as well as authentic Nordic vocals performed in Norwegian.

In case the news has somehow passed you by until now, Viking Rise is a visually impressive SLG showcasing new graphic rendering and 3D modelling techniques. It boasts hyper-realistic characters and stylised scenery, making for a highly distinctive aesthetic.
Gameplay-wise, Viking Rise is a real-time strategy game with online multiplayer and construction elements. It sees you playing as a Viking leader tasked with leading your tribe into Midgard, an unexplored continent full of opportunities and deadly hazards.
To survive and thrive you’ll need to plunder, hunt, explore, and fight. Over time your wealth, fame, and power will increase, consolidating your position while making you into a juicy target for other players.
Fortunately, you can forge alliances to create safety in numbers – assuming you can trust your allies.
Viking Rise features a winning blend of historically authentic Viking details and Norse mythology, along with a gacha mechanic that sees you summoning real and imaginary figures from Viking lore to aid you in your conquest.
Unlike many of its SLG rivals, Viking Rise has an environment that’s affected by a day/night cycle and seasonal changes. It also boasts a complex city-building mechanic that allows you to turn your settlement into a trade center, a resource hub, or a fortress.
There’s naval combat, too, along with a novel maritime marching tool that gives you access to the entire map, letting you explore in every direction.
Viking Rise also contains boss dungeons, Divine Realm occupations, and all of the features you’d expect to find in a top-tier mobile strategy MMO. If you’ve played Lords Mobile, or any of IGG’s strategy titles, you’ll know that Viking Rise means business.
