Exynos-Powered Galaxy S24 May Be Launched in More Countries

It was earlier rumored that some European and Southeast Asian markets are getting the Exynos 2400 SoC-powered Samsung Galaxy S24 while the remaining countries should receive the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant. However, a fresh update is forecasting that the company may even launch the Exynos version in its home turf, suggesting the confidence for their custom chipset.

This year’s Galaxy S23 (review) line has seen Samsung exclusively shifting to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in all regions. The reason was mainly due to the previous Exynos 2200 stricken with numerous issues affecting devices that run on it and subsequently for them dropping the supposed succeeding Exynos chip in favor of Qualcomm’s flagship silicon.

Last month, words from grapevine suggest Samsung will utilize back its in-house flagship chip for the Galaxy S24 (Plus) and Galaxy S24 Ultra, which was believed for select and fewer regions. But according to a Korean publication, Samsung would also enlist the Exynos 2400 on the upcoming series in their local market.

While not yet confirmed, the move could signal that Samsung has addressed the numerous setbacks related to the performance and efficiency of its chip. Even so, this would open to the possibility of the Koreans further equipping the Exynos 2400 to more devices in the future and leaving the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variants to the USA and remaining regions.

When it comes to the specs, the next-gen SoC uses 4 nm process node and comes with a 10-core processor, which is helmed by a prime Cortex X4 clocked at 3.1 GHz. The GPU is said to be an Xclipse 940 that offers double the graphical units from the Exynos 2200 on the Galaxy S22. The regular cadence puts the Samsung Galaxy S24 to be announced in January or February of 2024 alongside the chip.

If Samsung has really improved the Exynos 2400, would you prefer it on the Galaxy S24 over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3? We’re interested to hear your thoughts on this.
