When you find recipes, tap on them to check them out. Unlike most recipe websites, you won’t need to scroll past a 2,000-word essay on the history of spring puttanesca pasta. However, if you’d like to read up on a recipe and its ingredients, tap Read the Story if you see the option.
Scroll down to see the ingredients. If you want to check off which ingredients you have and which you need to buy, you can tap on one to gray it out. Scroll down further to see the directions for making the dish you picked.
If you’d like to save it for later, tap Save.
Follow along in Cook mode
After you find recipes and you’re ready to start cooking, tap Cook. You’ll see the directions in large, easy-to-follow lettering you can scroll through. You can quickly toggle between directions and ingredients using the picker at the top of the screen.
While you’re in Cook mode, your iPhone won’t auto-lock. This proves very helpful if you’re cooking with someone else who doesn’t know your passcode. You also can tap on any of the timer buttons to start a countdown timer straight from the directions. The timers will even be labeled with the step number and instructions, so you won’t forget which timer is for what.
