HR22K is metal, and has push-on bayonet-lock operation with an audible click to indicate retention – rotate the sleeve to release.
For an idea of size, see photo, the outside diameter of the sleeve is 21mm and the panel-mounting part has an M17 x 0.75mm nut.
Sealing once mated is to IPx7, “offering excellent protection against water and oil ingress”, according to the company. “The connector also has a spiral-type strain relief design, enhancing cable protection against bending.”
With caveats, the company is promising that the strain relief will last one million bends.
Cables up to 9.5mm in diameter can be accommodated, with conductors between 24 and 28AWG.
The connector has 20 contacts and handles data at up to 1Gbit/s providing the correct pin assignment is used.
Limiting ratings are: 2A, 100Vac, 140Vdc, -25 to +85°C, 300Vac for one minute and 100 mating cycles.
Measured at 1Adc, maximum contact resistance is 20mΩ.
The actual part number are HR22K-12WBP-20SC (HR22-SC1-221 contact) for the female plug and HR22K-12WBR-20PC (HR22-PC1-221 contact) for the male receptacle.
Industrial applications are foreseen, in CNC machines, other machine tools, PLCs, robotics and semiconductor manufacturing.
