Slopes in Ready for the Upcoming Winter Season With a Redesigned Apple Watch App and More

The top-notch app is a great way to track our runs using an iPhone or Apple Watch.

One of the best features of the app is Smart Recording. Just select the type of activity and then the app will figure out additional data like what resort you’re at.

It can then detect uphill, lifts, and runs for the whole day. There is even a Smart Reminder system for resorts that can let you know if you get to a lift and haven’t started a recording or if you drive away and you haven’t stopped the recording.

With an opt-in system, you can even see exactly where your friends are on the mountain when they are at the resort.

At the end of the day, you can see information like speed, vertical, run times, and other information.

And the app has recently gotten even better with an update to take advantage of watchOS 10 and iOS 17.

On the Apple Watch, the app is featuring an new UI with larger fonts that make it easier to see information at a glance. Use the Digital Crown to while recording to see vies of different stats, each one highlighted with custom backgrounds.

When you start recording on the watch, a Live Activity will begin on your iPhone.

The app now also support StandBy Mode on iOS 17. With that you can see conditions at your favorite resort while your iPhone is charging.

Slopes is a free download on the App Store for the iPhone and Apple Watch. The free version of the app allows unlimited recording, a daily summary of stats, resort conditions, resort trail map.

An optional subscription is $29.99 annually. That unlocks run-by-run stats, winter maps/speed heat maps, offline trail maps, virtual 3D mountains, level-of-effort insights, and the ability compare runs side-by-side.
