Photon is a Professional-Grade Camera App from the Camera+ Team

And the team behind the app has just introduced a new professional-grade way to capture images: Photon Camera.

While the app offers a number of tools found in other professional apps, it’s made for anyone to pickup and start using,

One of the best features of the app is its simplicity and clean interface. Once you open up Photon, the controls you need are within easy each. You can quickly adjust settings including exposure, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance.

Additional settings you can control from the main page include lens, focus, and format and resolution of the image.

For even more control of the image, you can use a histogram, rule-of-three grid, and live values for manual controls.

The app also gives you control on image formats captured. You can shoot in JPEG, HEIF, True Raw and ProRaw. You can also combine combine JPEG or HEIF with either RAW option.

After capturing the image, a Session Preview feature will show you the image. And you can choose to best to share. You’ll also see important information like time, location, resolution, and ISO. All of the images are saved directly to your Photo Library for easy access.

If you’d like to learn more about all of the app’s features, there is a handy online manual you can view. Along with all of the ins and outs of the app itself, there is also a number of great free information about photography in general.

Photon Camera is a free download on the App Store now.

You’ll need a subscription to use the app. There are two options—$3.99 per month or $19.99 yearly. There is also a one-time purchase available for $39.99.
