UK Charts: Not Even Street Fighter 6 Can Knock Zelda: TOTK Off Its Throne

It’s UK charts time, and once again, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom tops the pile, despite the much-anticipated launch of Capcom’s Street Fighter 6.

It’s a remarkable achievement for a game that’s not only been at the top of the charts for four weeks in a row now but is also only available on one platform. Street Fighter 6 is, of course, a multi-platform title and, well… it’s Street Fighter, for goodness sake! Well done indeed, Zelda.

Elsewhere, the Switch version of FIFA 23 sold reasonably well this week, making up 35% of the platform split against PS5’s 28%, allowing the game to settle into third place. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has also maintained its position at number seven, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons sneaking in behind to come in at number eight.

Perhaps most surprising, however, is the inclusion of Evercade Team 17 Amiga Collection 1 at number forty! Considering the Evercade is undoubtedly a niche device for a particular audience, to see one of its cartridges enter the charts is most pleasing.

A couple of other things to note: Minecraft and Minecraft Legends have basically swapped positions this week, with Minecraft leaping up the charts to come in at number 12, and Minecraft Legends slipping down to number twenty-eight, so there you go. Finally, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has completely tanked following its launch sales and is now not even in the top forty at all. Nasty Hobbitses.

So, let’s take a look at this week’s top forty in full:
