Happy Monday! The latest boxed charts are in for the UK and, to no one’s surprise, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom comfortably takes the top spot.

According to Chris Dring from GamesIndustry.biz, the latest Zelda entry from Nintendo is the biggest boxed launch of 2023 so far, beating out Hogwarts Legacy by 54%. It also beat out its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, by a staggering 173% and is already the fourth biggest Zelda game of all time in revenue, sitting just behind The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It’s not quite the biggest Switch launch of all time, however, as that honour still belongs to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Of course, since Nintendo doesn’t share digital data, we’re not really getting a complete picture of how the game has done at launch, but if the boxed sales are anything to go by, we have a hunch that Tears of the Kingdom might become the best-selling Zelda game of all time sooner than later.

Elsewhere, the PS4 and Xbox One releases for Hogwarts Legacy have kept Avalanche Software’s game high up in the top ten, while Breath of the Wild itself has enjoyed a surge in sales in the wake of its sequel’s launch, coming in at number 8.

Finally, we’re not sure what’s going on here, but Minecraft’s domination in the charts appears to be waning. The evergreen title has been sitting comfortably in the top ten for what’s felt like yonks, but has now fallen down to 19th place after coming in 15th last week.
